    Schönbrunn Palace

    A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Schönbrunn Palace is one of the most important sites in all of Austria. Once a hunting ground for Holy Roman Emperor Maximillian II, the site in its current state was built in the mid 1700s until the fall of the Habsburg monarchy.

    HOFBURG PALACE

    Built in 1275, The Hofburg, meaning ‘royal castle’ is the former imperial palace that seated the Habsburg dynasty. Today it is the official residence and workplace of the President of Austria. Over the centuries it has been expanded to include various residences. Visitors will need to find ample time to tour its expansive areas.

    ST. STEPHAN’S CATHEDRAL

    Built during a time when Vienna was the centre of German civilization, St. Stephen’s Cathedral is the most important religious building in Vienna. With meticulous multi-colored roof tiles, it has witnessed the nation’s changes and is one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.

    Graben

    One of the most famous shopping streets in Vienna’s city centre, Graben (meaning ‘ditch’) can trace its origin back to the old Roman encampment of Vindobona. The street is lively with artists and musicians displaying their talents. Shops ranging from the traditional to modern boutiques line both sides. Well worth a Christmas visit.
