Today (3 October 2018), Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha and members of Cabinet traveled to Lamphun in support of secondary cities as part of the “Thai Tiew Thai” tourism package that is a cooperation between Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai Smile Airways Company Limited, and Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited. The “Thai Tiew Thai” tourism campaign will boost tourism to 55 secondary cities and is also tax deductable as the fiscal year comes near to a close. The Prime Minister and entourage used the Krung Thai NEXT mobile application to purchase THAI’s package tour.
Mr. Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI President, said that THAI, Thai Smile, TAT, and Krung Thai have joined together to launch the “Thai Tiew Thai” campaign in an effort to encourage travel to secondary cities. This is an ongoing part of THAI’s ongoing transformation strategy to gain strength through synergized alliances with state enterprises, which was announced during a recent panel discussion on “Power of State-Owned Enterprises, Synergy to Win between TAT, Airports of Thailand (AOT), Krung Thai, and THAI and as a result will boost the Thai economy. Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, THAI Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, THAI Senior Advisor, Mr. Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI President, and THAI Management traveled to Lamphun in support of the “Thai Tiew Thai” campaign.
THAI, through Royal Orchid Holidays, has organized value-added package tours to its 10 domestic destinations that can reach 20 secondary cities in the North, Northeast, and South. The tour programs include sightseeing, meals, hotel accommodation, ground transportation, with consideration for tourist safety throughout the journey. A total of 20 package tours will be open for sale now until 31 December 2018 as follows: Community lifestyle tourism in provinces such as Lampoon, Lampang, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, and Surat Thani. THAI supports the Government policy to promote travel to secondary cities in Thailand, which will help generate income and lead to further development in these areas. THAI, as the national carrier of Thailand, transports 25 million passengers from 61 destinations in 31 countries to and from Thailand per year, those of whom may travel to secondary cities through THAI and Thai Smile flights to 10 domestic destinations.
