    THAI Clarification on Flight TG321

    Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) provides clarification on flight TG321 from Bangkok to Dhaka, Bangladesh on 24 July 2018, whereby the aircraft’s tyre bursted while landing on the runway.
     
    Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security & Standards Department said that on 24 July 2018, flight TG321, operated with Boeing 777-200 aircraft, departed from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to Dhaka at 10.35 hours and arrived in Dhaka, at 12.10 hours (local time).  During touchdown at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), there was heavy rain. Captain of the flight found out that the aircraft’s tyres had bursted.  The captain took control of the aircraft until it landed safely. The aircraft carried 172 passengers and 14 cabin crew. All passengers and crew are safe with no injury. The Company will urgently replace spare parts necessary for the full operation of the aircraft and will accommodate passengers who booked to travel on the return flight TG322 from Dhaka to Bangkok on 25 July 2018 with a larger aircraft, Boeing 777-300. Flight TG322 on 25 July 2018 will depart from Dhaka at 02.00 hours (local time) to Bangkok and will arrive Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 05.30 (Bangkok time). THAI will conduct an investigation as to the cause of the incident.
