Thailand COVID-19 Entry Regulations Effective from 09 January 2023

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has introduced new regulations for travelers entering the Kingdom of Thailand. From January 9, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. local time (Bangkok), all passengers entering the Kingdom of Thailand must present a valid vaccination certificate showing that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with accredited vaccines and Health Insurance.

This does not apply to:

• Thai passport holders.
• Diplomatic passport holders.
• UN passport holders.
• Minors below 18 years of age (Vaccination Certificated only, Health Insurance is required).
• Passengers transferring/transiting through Thailand to other destinations outside Thailand (Subject to measure in place at their final destination).
• Previously infected passengers with a Covid-19 recovery certificate showing the date of infection is more than 7 days and less than 6 months from the date of departure.
• Passengers previously infected twice with Covid-19 recovery certificates for both infections. The latest date of infection must be more than 7 days from the date of departure.
• Previously infected passengers with recovery certificates who have had a single dose of vaccine. The date of infection must be more than 7 days from the date of departure.
• Unvaccinated passengers with a medical letter providing a reason for Covid-19 vaccine exemption.

Notes:

Vaccination Certificate

• Fully vaccinated means someone who has had complete dose(s) of accredited vaccines according to the manufacturer’s recommendation at least 14 days from the date of departure. For accredited vaccines information please Click Here
• A mix of vaccines is accepted.
• 1 dose of vaccination plus 1 recovery before or after a confirmed positive COVID-19 case is considered as fully vaccination - should have proof document i.e. Doctor Certificate recovery or RT-PCR/ATK positive result.
• COVID-19 recovery for 2 times with confirmed positive COVID-19 case is also considered as FULLY VACCINATED - should also have proof document i.e. doctor certificate or RT-PCR/ATK positive result.
• Passengers who recovered from COVID-19 at least 7 days but not more than 6 months, if not received any vaccine before, can also travel if holding Medical Certificate or Proof of Confirmed COVID-19 Lab Report.
• Doctor certificate for those who cannot take vaccines due to health-related issues also can be accept the passenger to Thailand.
• Old THAILAND PASS indicated pax fully vaccination including Sandbox, Test & Go or No Quarantine program is also ACCEPTABLE as proof of FULLY VACCINATION - no need to verify its genuine.
• The certificate could be either in hard copy or digital format.

Health Insurance

• Health Insurance coverage amount USD 10,000 equivalent with other currencies with coverage the period until departure date from Thailand + 7 days and Health Insurance must cover COVID-19 Medical Treatment during stay in Thailand. Accidental coverage alone is not accepted.
• Proof of FUND i.e. Guarantee Letter from Organization, Authority, Thai Social Security Fund card, etc. is also ACCEPTABLE.

Face Mask

• Passengers are highly recommended to wear a face mask during flight, except during meal consumption or under emergency situations.

Passengers who fail to produce a document proving these requirements are met, will be subjected to conduct a COVID-19 test at Port Health upon arrival in Bangkok. That it will slow the arrival process.

For passengers who are required to be accompanied with Health Insurance as above-mentioned, the Health Insurance Policy can be purchased prior to disembarkation at cost.
