    Covid-19 Travel information to and from Denmark

    The information on this page is based on the guidance made available by the relevant authorities and is correct as of the date above but may be subject to change at very short notice.

    We remind passengers that it is their responsibility to always check the relevant governmental websites to ensure they comply with the entry requirements at their destination at the time of travel, as well as the regulations in place at their point of departure.

    TRAVELLING TO THAILAND

    There are currently 3 options of entering The Kingdom of Thailand.

    1. Test and Go

    2. Sandbox Programme

    3. Alternative Quarantine (AQ)

    Kindly note all documents below MUST be presented to the airline and the Thai authorities.

    From 1 April 2022, travellers do not need to show a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours prior to their departure. The requirement is RT-PCR test upon arrival and an ATK test on Day 5 for Test & Go & Sandbox Programme.

    1. Test and Go

    Travel from a port of departure in any country/territory see list of eligible countries/territories.
    Exempted from quarantine after testing negative for COVID-19 (RT-PCR) after arrival in Thailand.
    Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before traveling
    Booking on approved SHA Extra+ or AQ hotel for 1 day (Day 1)
    RT-PCR result must be negative or not detected
    If RT-PCR result is positive or detected, a recovery certificate and proof of covid recovery for at least 14 days before traveling but less than 90 days from the first date of detection is required

    All travelers must download and install the Morchana application.

    Documents

    - Passport and Thai Visa (if required), if not passenger must have a RETURN TICKET
    - Thailand Pass QR Code
    - Certificate of Vaccination (In English & in Hard Copy)
    - Paid Reservation Confirmation from SHA Extra+ / AQ Hotel for 1 night (Day 1). The price must include the fee for 1 RT-PCR test, 1 ATK self-test kit and airport transfer.
    - Insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD for medical expenses (in English & in Hard Copy), (not required for Thai nationals / foreign residents in Thailand can use social security or certificate from their employer)

    2. Sandbox Programme

    Travelers from any country/territory. Stay in the Sandbox area is reduced to 7 days and will be able to travel in Thailand thereafter (see list of Sandbox areas)
    Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before traveling
    Booking for 7 days on approved SHA Extra+ or AQ hotel
    RT-PCR result must be negative or not detected
    If RT-PCR result is positive or detected, medical certificate proof of covid recovery at least 14 days but less than 90 days from the onset or first date of detection is required

    Documents

    - Passport and Thai Visa (if required), if not passenger must have a RETURN TICKET
    - Thailand Pass QR Code
    - Certificate of Vaccination (In English & in Hard Copy)
    - Paid AQ / SHA Extra+ hotel reservation confirmation throughout the 7 days period (The booking must include the fee for 1 RT-PCR test, 1 ATK self-test kit and airport transfer)
    - Insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD for medical expenses (not required for Thai nationals / foreign residents in Thailand can use social security or certificate from their employer)

    3. Alternative Quarantine

    Travelers from any country/territory. Stay in quarantine for 5 days and will be able to travel in Thailand thereafter
    Full vaccination is not required under this scheme
    Booking for 5 days on approved AQ hotel
    RT-PCR result must be negative or not detected on day 5.

    Documents

    - Passport and Thai Visa (if required), if not passenger must have a RETURN TICKET
    - Thailand Pass QR Code
    - Pre-paid AQ hotel confirmation (including the fee for 1 RT-PCR tests for on Day 5)
    - Insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD for medical expenses (not required for Thai nationals / foreign residents in Thailand can use social security or certificate from their employer)

    TRANSIT/TRANSFER FROM INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT TO ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT AT BANGKOK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

    - The time period of each Transit/Transfer operation shall not exceed 24 hours.
    - Each passenger shall possess either of the following documents which are:
       a. Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected (RT-PCR result and issued no more than 72 hours before travelling)
       b. Certificate of Vaccination (In English & in Hard Copy) no less than 14 days before departure.
    - Travel Insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD for medical expenses (in English & in Hard Copy)
    - The exempted passengers will be required to be in the designated transit areas and strictly comply with the disease control measures applicable at the airport of transit.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVELLING TO DENMARK

    If you are vaccinated or previously infected:

    - There are no travel restrictions when entering Denmark.

    If you are not vaccinated or previously infected:

    - There are no travel restrictions if you enter from EU or Schengen countries.

    - If you enter from a country outside EU and Schengen, you must take a test at a test centre within 24 hours upon entry (self-tests are not valid for this purpose).

    19 May 2021

    Effective 14MAY21, passengers from Yellow countries are not required to present COVID-19 test during check-in, and Thailand is now categorized as Yellow country and is exempted from the COVID test requirement.

    07 February 2021

    Denmark will introduce increased restrictions upon arrival in order to limit the spread of new virus variants and prevent the accelerated spread of more infectious virus variants. The new rules will take effect from Sunday, 7 February 2021.

    1.All passengers need to present negative COVID-19 test result that is no more than 24 hours old prior to boarding.
    2.Upon arrival, a rapid test must be taken before leaving the airport.
    3.All entrants must isolate for 10 days.
    4.The isolation may be broken after a negative PCR Test taken no earlier than on the fourth day after entry.

    09 January 2021

    Denmark has announced the new policy on entering the country, effective from Jan 9-17, 2021.

    All arriving passengers need to have a negative COVID-19 test not older than 24 hours before boarding a flight to Denmark. PCR and Antigen Test are both acceptable. Children under the age of 12 are excluded from the test requirement.

    Venues for COVID Test
    Paolo Kaset Hospital - test result within 2 hours
    Piyavate Hospital - test result within 6-24 hours
    Bangkok Hospital - test result within 24 hours
